In this post, I am going to tell you the easiest way to answer the question, “Tell me about yourself”. The problem with this question is it’s the first one you will have to answer at your job interview. Because some are understandably nervous, most candidates forget what to say.

They fumble their words, and they end up failing their interview as a result. Therefore, I have created a really easy structure to remember when answering the interview question, “Tell me about yourself”. So if you have a job interview coming up soon for any role or company, make sure you stay tuned. Because I promise to help you be the standout candidate.

Let’s jump straight into the answer. So, I will cover the following four things in this post. I will tell you two things you should include in your answer to the question, “Tell Me About Yourself”.

I will then give you a really easy structure when answering the “Tell Me About Yourself” question.

Now. This structure is so easy to remember. You will be glad you stay tuned.
I will then give you a brilliant example answer to that question, “Tell Me About Yourself”.

So let me start and tell you the four things you should always include in your answer to the interview question “Tell Me About Yourself”.

Formula Number – 1

Number one, start your answer and talk about the experience you have that is relevant to the position you have applied for. If you have no previous work experience, tell the interviewer your educational qualifications you have.

Formula Number – 2

Number two now, move on and tell the interviewer details of one significant achievement you have gained from your work life or your personal life. This is a great thing to include in your answer to the “Tell Me About Yourself” because it shows you are a high achiever.

Number three, talk about the specific skills you can bring to the role.

Formula Number – 4

Number four, finish off your answer and tell the interviewer your USP. Your USP is your ‘Unique Selling Point’. This is what makes you stand out from your competition.


This is what makes you stand out from the competition. So examples of USPS include being flexible and adaptable. Being someone willing to carry out tasks that are outside your job description, being an allrounder and someone who can turn their hand to almost anything, being someone who is good with customers, and who can also close a sale.

And then finally, being someone who takes responsibility for difficult challenges and is always organized in their work.

So let me now give you that really easy structure to use when answering the interview “Tell Me About Yourself”, and I will give you an example.

So the structure is called the easy structure “E A S Y”

What does E.A.S.Y. stand for?

E stands for the experience or educational qualifications you can bring to the role.
A stands for one achievement you have gained in your life so far.
S is the skills you can bring to the position, and Y is your U S P, the one thing that makes you stand out from the competition.

Don’t forget USP stands for your unique selling point. So let me now give you a brilliant example answer.

Welcome to the interview, Sapan. Please start and tell me about yourself.


Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be interviewed for this position today. I already have the experience to excel in the role. I have strong interpersonal and communication skills. I am a supportive coworker and can prioritize my work based on the company’s goals and have a track record of achievement.

So, for example, in my last role, I was often praised by my supervisor for the amount of work I have completed and how good I was at dealing with customers. The skills I have are perfect for this position. I am an excellent collaborator. I have strong problem-solving skills and I always take ownership of my professional development, so I am always useful to my employer.

My unique selling point is that I am a very fast learner. I can fit seamlessly into any team and always carry out duties outside my job description. I will be a positive role model for the company if you hire me. And I will make sure you see a positive return on your investment.So that was a brilliant example answer in a job interview, and it’s guaranteed that this post will help you to put you ahead of the competition in your forthcoming interview.
