Licensed Behavior Specialist

Hanover Area School District

Tell us a little about yourself.

I am from Dallas, Pennsylvania. I am a Licensed Behavior Specialist at the Hanover Area School District, where I work in their PreK Counts Program. I love working with preschool students, especially since my own children are older. I recently passed my BCBA certification exam, so I am officially a BCBA!

How did you get into the ABA field?

My journey in this field began in 1995, and since then, I've been dedicated to it, holding various direct care and supervisory roles. This dedication has been a driving force in my career.

Why did you choose ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥'s program?

When I entered the program, I was only going for the certificate in ABA since I already have a master’s degree in counseling psychology.  After completing the first two semesters, I switched to the master’s degree since I was impressed with the program and valued the opportunity to complete a thesis in ABA.  I was very impressed with the U¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥’s faculty and the curriculum, which met the requirements for the BCBA exam.

What are your plans?

My journey doesn't end here. I'm continuing my education remotely at the University of Galway in Ireland,  where I'll be completing my PhD in Applied Behavior Analysis. My dissertation research will focus on Relational Frame Theory,  a topic I'm deeply passionate about. And all this while, I'll continue to contribute to the Hanover Area School District.

What did you like about ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥'s program?

The U¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥'s program not only met the BCBA credentialing requirements but also exceeded my expectations.  The faculty's exceptional knowledge and care for students and working professionals like me were instrumental in my success.  I felt encouraged and supported throughout my time at the U¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥, and I'm grateful for their role in my preparation for the BCBA examination, which I passed on my first attempt.
